The New Bluetooth Audio Standard Belivers Better Sound and Audio Sharing

Bluetooth SIG has announced that LE (low-energy) audio will be the new standard for Bluetooth. It differs from typical Bluetooth formats such as Bluetooth 4 or Bluetooth 5, and it provides a new standard for Bluetooth audio.

The LE audio protocol provides advantages over traditional Bluetooth, such as hearing aid compatibility and audio sharing. Music sharing is now feasible thanks to the new function of broadcast audio, which is available in low-energy audio format. This allows users to share their listening audio on their smartphone or other devices with those nearby. For example, a person can use this function to share music with family and friends, while organisations or businesses can use it to broadcast audio to the public.

LE audio format improves on the little Complexity Communication Codec (LC3) to give good sound quality with little power. It may even assist developers in creating apps that do not degrade the device’s battery life. It also allows for the transmission of several audio streams, which allows developers to improve stereo imaging experiences on goods such as wireless earphones.

Bluetooth Special Interest Group confirms that the LE audio Bluetooth standards would be issued in the first half of this year.
